Description Tom Lloyd 2006-04-29 06:38:42 UTC
I tried to emerge app-tv/xawtv earlier, but the build kept failing with this message:

mkfontdir
xset fp- "/root:unscaled"
/bin/sh: xset: command not found
make: [all] Error 127 (ignored)
xset fp+ "/root:unscaled"
/bin/sh: xset: command not found
make: *** [all] Error 127

!!! ERROR: media-tv/xawtv-3.94-r1 failed.
Call stack:
  ebuild.sh, line 1525: Called dyn_compile
  ebuild.sh, line 928: Called src_compile
  xawtv-3.94-r1.ebuild, line 65: Called die

!!! tvfonts failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant.

However, the problem was resolved as soon as I emerged x11-apps/xset.
Looks like the xawtv ebuild needs to be updated to check for modular X, and if it finds it, add xset as a dependancy. I was going to modify the ebuild myself, but I can't make head nor tail of how to do that.

With any luck I've filed this bug properly - it's the first time I've done one like this :)

fixed in 3.95-r1, thanks.

Comment 3 Matthias Langer 2006-06-30 11:07:46 UTC
reopening because modular X is now stable on x86 and xawtv-3.95-r1 still in ~x86.
Comment 4 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-30 11:15:59 UTC
Please don't reopen random bugs.
I'll open a stabilisation request for the new xawtv version.
