> Could not run/locate "i386-pc-linux-gnu-gcc" > CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" That's what happens if you mess w/ your CHOST. You must run 'emerge -e system' at least after doing that.

You must run 'emerge -e system' > at least after doing that. Of course I did not mess with my CHOST, this is a new install and the CHOST was not touched from the original make.conf used during the installation. I just changed my USE flags and did an emerge --newuse world right after the first boot into the new system. Then, trying to emerge apache, I run into this error.
I found that I have this: # cat /etc/env.d/05binutils MANPATH=/usr/share/binutils-data/i386-pc-linux-gnu/2.16.1/man INFOPATH=/usr/share/binutils-data/i386-pc-linux-gnu/2.16.1/info LDPATH=/usr/i386-pc-linux-gnu/lib # ls /etc/env.d/binutils/ config-i386-pc-linux-gnu i386-pc-linux-gnu-2.16.1 # cat /etc/env.d/binutils/i386-pc-linux-gnu-2.16.1 TARGET="i386-pc-linux-gnu" VER="2.16.1" LIBPATH="/usr/lib/binutils/i386-pc-linux-gnu/2.16.1" FAKE_TARGETS="i386-pc-linux-gnu" I certainly did not put those there...I'm reemerging binutils at the moment to see if it helps.
