I would say that you have much more problems than firefox: /root/kde3.5.2/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0: undefined reference to `g_intern_static_string' /root/kde3.5.2/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0: undefined reference to `g_intern_string' /root/kde3.5.2/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0: undefined reference to `g_slice_alloc' /root/kde3.5.2/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0: undefined reference to `g_hash_table_ref' /root/kde3.5.2/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0: undefined reference to `g_slice_alloc0' /root/kde3.5.2/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0: undefined reference to `g_hash_table_unref' /root/kde3.5.2/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0: undefined reference to `g_slice_free1' It seems that you have installed some libraries (glib-2.0 ?) in your /root/kde3.5.2/lib directory and added it to LD_PATH. what's the contents of /etc/ld.so.conf?
As your attempting to link to libs outside your / partition I am closing this. Nothing I can see on our part, I would use portage if your wanting support for this .. ie install kde-3.5.2 via portage as all other users do
