Ebuilds for Catalyst MVC Framework can be found here (SVN): http://svn.italpro.biz/catalyst-portage/ There's also an howto with links to a packaged version of the ebuilds: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Catalyst_Framework It's becoming pretty stable, I hope we will se the ebuilds in Portage soon or after.
Good luck finding a maintainer, I'm pretty sure perl guys will run away right now.... :P
> I'm pretty sure perl guys will run away right now.... :P Why? There are only 119 ebuilds. ;-) Besides jokes, I maintain the "non official" ebuilds and it's quite easy and not time-consuming. So maybe it's not an impossible dream... Michele.
*119* is the reason. If we had an unofficial overlay, I'd slap it in or at least point to in a heartbeat. But the thought of adding another 119 builds on top of what we currently are responsible for is daunting to say the least.

I'm probably a bit ignorant, but if it would be too much burden for current perl maintainers to get this into official tree, why don't make the unofficial overlay maintainer the maintainer of this part of the tree? I suppose there are some social reasons. But from the technical side, Micheles work seems to meet the standard I expect from Gentoo... And lack of such a thing as this framework does not.
We might have Catalyst ebuilds in Portage soon or after, stay tuned ;-) BTW, this bug still show old information re the SVN repository. The correct one is here: http://code2.0beta.co.uk/catportage/svn/dev-perl Michele.
So, this is a CANTFIX. Feel free to reopen if you can get a maintainer for this. Meanwhile, you can use the overlay as we don't have resources to maintain this.
