Description Eric Sprague 2006-04-27 06:17:52 UTC
media-sound/audiocompress-1.5.1 is marked -amd64. After unmasking by adding it to /etc/portage/package.keywords, it compiles and runs successfully anyway. Recommend it be re-keyworded as ~amd64 instead.

Hardware/software configuration:
Dual Opteron 250
4096MB RAM
2x 7800GT w/nVidia drivers
Audigy4 Pro audio
Xorg 7.0.0
XMMS 1.2.10

eradicator marked it -amd64 in bug #56026. I'd say it should stay until he's had his say on why it was marked that way.
Comment 2 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-02 01:18:24 UTC
The comment in the ebuild says that the xmms plugin causes a floating point exception on amd64. Have you tried the xmms plugin?

-- Ack, sorry for getting back to this so late, but yes, the xmms plugin works for me, at least. In fact, that's specifically the part I wanted. The Audacious plugin works too.
Comment 4 Michael Weyershäuser 2006-11-11 17:28:33 UTC
...not that the XMMS plugin would matter in any way now XMMS is masked and about to go away...

Emerges fine on amd64 for me, good to go IMO.
