gpg-agent has been package.masked, apparently pending removal. however, its functionality is now provided by the latest gnupg (1.90.20-r1), so users should still be able to have some sort of gpg agent. Obviously, though, the section on gpg-agent needs to be removed or at least updated, including the code examples for pinentry and so on. Unfortunately, it seems that the current stable versions of gnupg don't provide the necessary gpg-agent function, so it looks like the guide will have to recommend installing an ~arch package. :( hopefully it will be marked stable soon.
