Comment 2 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-23 06:12:30 UTC
Sounds like you haven't updated to kdelibs-3.5.2-r4.
Comment 3 Eldad Zack (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-23 06:25:58 UTC
I did an "emerge world".

fix deps?
Comment 4 Ioannis Aslanidis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-23 08:28:22 UTC
Did you do "emerge -uDN world"?

What kdelibs version do you have installed?
Comment 6 Eldad Zack (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-23 15:36:09 UTC
re comment #4:

I did just "emerge world".
It emerged ok when I forced the right order.

re comment #5:

HAD installed :)
Previous versions: kde-base/kdelibs-3.5.2-r2, kde-base/kdebase-3.5.2.
Comment 7 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-23 16:57:09 UTC
As I said, update to kdelibs-3.5.2-r4 and stop hardcoding specific ebuild revisions into package.keywords.

Use either

kde-base/<foo>

or

<=kde-base/<foo>-3.5.2-r99

Comment 9 Eldad Zack (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-02 18:05:52 UTC
this is clearly not fixed, although I don't have this issue myself (anymore), you will see many bug reports about this.
This is just a simple dependency problem...

For the record, my package.keywords looks like this:

=kde-base/kdeutils-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdebase-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdepim-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdeadmin-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdetoys-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdegames-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdeartwork-3.5.2*
=kde-base/umbrello-3.5.2*
=kde-base/arts-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdenetwork-3.5.2*
=kde-base/cervisia-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdegraphics-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdemultimedia-3.5.2*
=kde-base/kdelibs-3.5.2*

and so on.

> This is just a simple dependency problem...

It's not. I'm not going to add an dependency on the exact revision, just because people running testing, have either too strict depend atoms in package.keywords or omit the --deep option when updating. No user running stable will ever have such a problem.

> =kde-base/<foo>-3.5.2*

This is not the way to go (for split packages), as it doesn't include kde-base/<foo>-3.5.{1,0} revison updates.
