Hi folks,
I think there should be a newer rt2500 driver in portage, the existing 1.1.0_beta3 ebuild is too old to detect my pcmcia card. I have written a cvs ebuild which solves the problem for me, but maybe a ebuild using a recent snapshot would be better?

It is a general policy to not include live cvs ebuilds into the tree.  Also, upstream has deprecated rt2500 in favor of their new combined rt2x00.  If this ebuild works for you, you can keep it in an overlay and continue to use it
