Description Ricardo 2006-04-20 06:33:14 UTC
Ever since I upgraded portage to the latest version of portage, there have been a large number of instances where, when upgrading or emerging new packages, I get the following error:

emerge -u mplayer

!!! Security Violation: A file exists that is not in the manifest.
!!! File: files/digest-alsa-headers-1.0.11_rc5

Running emerge --sync does not ameliorate this problem. The only thing that works for me is to go into the portage tree and manually delete the offending file/ebuild. So, in this case, I had to delete files/digest-alsa-headers-1.0.11_rc5 and alsa-headers-1.0.11_rc5.ebuild I wonder if anyone else has had this problem, and what I can do about it.

Here's my emerge --info:
|42| / $ emerge --info

This is not a mirror problem, this is an issue with the ebuilds that you were trying to emerge. Reassigning.
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-20 08:54:45 UTC
I've just emerged alsa 1.0.11; all works fine. As you can see, there's no such file in CVS either...
