FYI: Whoever did the Pan 0.92 ebuild did not need to include "gnet". It is no longer a requirement and doesn't need to be installed going forward. Fixed crash when reading articles with oddly-munged From: headers. Fixed crash when reading articles with non-ascii Subject: headers. In the header pane, keep child nodes sorted by date. `delete article' was in the wrong place in the menus. `read-selected-article' expands the article's subtree in the header pane. groupname abbreviations are off by default for new users. `mark article read' is back. When shortening names in the group pane, shorten discussion groups like alt.something.d to a.something.d

I made a patch for the ebuild of Pan. As mentioned in comment #1 gnet is no longer a dependencie, so i removed it. Futhermore i add a use flag "spell" for optional spell checking support by gtkspell. The ebuild builds nicely on my ~amd64 box. Please check if it builds on other boxes.

FYI: I just built version 0.99 of Pan by just renaming the existing 0.94 ebuild to pan-0.99.ebuild.
In portage since May, closing a stale bug.
