Description Caleb Cushing 2006-04-15 09:52:51 UTC
This application is affected by the rgb.txt path change bug. The Path of rgb.txt has change from /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt to /usr/share/X11/rgb.txt in Xorg 7. Please update the application to reflect this change as it cause problems with this application.

Note: aterm will not run at ALL if the file is not present in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt

rgb.txt is only loaded from xlib, and is not referenced anywhere in aterm's code.
Are you verifying that putting rgb.txt into /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt fixes aterm for xorg7 ?

seemed to fix it for aterm and conky on my system. It could find the colors black white whatever that were being referenced so crashed. putting rgb.txt or at least a link to it, in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb.txt fixed my issue.
Comment 3 Caleb Cushing 2006-04-19 00:06:38 UTC
seems I missed something before filing this bugs... I had not updated the path in my xorg.conf

# The location of the RGB database. Note, this is the name of the
# file minus the extension (like ".txt" or ".db"). There is normally
# no need to change the default.

    RgbPath "/usr/lib/X11/rgb"

I didn't actually realise this was in there. Apologies for missing it. note: it was the old path. changing it allowed me to remove rgb.txt from the old location.
