Bug 129832 – gnome 2.14 / metacity: problem with transparency

I unmasked gnome 2.14 and installed it. Everything works properly, except of one thing:

1. When I drag icons around on the desktop, the background of the icons isn't transparent but white, so they get an ugly white square around them.
2. notifications from notification daemons also have this ugly white borders
3. Round borders from metacity windows are round, but the tiny remaining edge has the color of the windowtitle instead of being "invisible".

your 'emerge --info' as requested in the bugreport form ?

Are you using composite or xgl ? What versions of metacity & libnl do you have installed ?

I fixed it. I enabled dri and glx and some other X extensions now it works.

this is not a gentoo bug then, we don't enable the transparency stuff.
