Description Joseph Carter 2002-12-31 08:11:39 UTC
red packages will be removed.. Green ones updated. Hmm, which ones are red and
which are green?

Monocrome monitors and speech access programs for the blind break with this.
Color is useful for us because it helps us identify things more quickly, but
that should not be the only method by which the information is presented. There
are still monocrhome monitors used out there (still useful for dual-head setups)
and there are people using Linux with speech software which does not convey the
(almost always irrelivant) color of the text being read.

Suggest a summary..

These things will be merged:
  foo bar baz
These things will be upgraded:
  troz narf poit
These things will be nuked:
  blearghhh

The asthetics are not important, handle that however it seems appropriate. The
necessary information is important though.

portage already provides a way to disable color :P
if you read `man make.conf` you'll find the variable 'NOCOLOR'

[BNRFU/UD/U-] should have fixed this.
