Maybe, before removing the old xdriinfo ebuild, it should be checked that the new one works.

kind regards

Hm, looking at the URL from me and you - why this difference, synced few seconds ago - result is the same, but good to know the correct one for portage overlay ebuild.

kind regards

Found the error - but dont know where to solve it:

Looking at x-modular.eclass, portage think, that i've got a full release, but thats wrong.
I am using the modular system - cause of that the url's difference:

# Set up SRC_URI for individual modular releases
BASE_INDIVIDUAL_URI="http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/individual"

# SRC_URI for full releases
SRC_URI="${SRC_URI}        http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/X11R7.0/src/everything/${P}.tar.bz2"

I hope this information i gathered is correct.

So where this decision is made which one i am using?

kind regards

It checks every location in order, starting with individual/. I bet you have a stale x-modular.eclass in one of your overlays, because the locations you were trying for aren't even in the current eclass.
Comment 5 Torsten Krah 2006-04-11 04:03:44 UTC
Yes you are right - i got a stale one in my overlay. Hm my fault, it was needed some day modular X appeared in portage to make it work because of some bugs etc. pp.
Hm, maybe portage should use the one which is "newer" but the one in the overlay was used.

Ok, removed it to my archive - now it works, thx for help.

kind regards
