Description Bryan Jacobs 2006-04-07 18:51:08 UTC
Bleeding-edge enhanced heimdal ebuild. Builds and runs fine.

Introduced bugs:
kadmin> ext -k will only function properly as root (run as kadmin -l), complaining about "empty key tables" otherwise. This may be PEBKAC but I doubt it is.

New features:
- Smartcard support with pkinit. This is the big one, for me at least.
- Forced pthreads options passed to ./configure when USE="threads"

Ebuild specifics:
Patches updated to cope with latest Heimdal sources. This should keep working with daily Heimdal builds for a while.

Note that the changed libasn1.so version from .6 to .5 requires rebuilding all apps linked against Heimdal.

Particularly notable are openssh, pam_krb5, cyrus-sasl, and openafs. Don't lose your core system functionality due to forgetting to remerge something.

But then again, if you're using this ebuild, you probably already know what you're doing.

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for your effort on this (and I do hope that you'll continue to track heimdal development. I'd rather wait for a proper release though, before throwing into portage.
