Links to translations in GWN are placed near the bottom, which makes them almost unusable for international readers without good command of English. I'd like to make links look like in w.g.o/doc/: see patches!

Not an infra bug
FWIF, I think moving the links to the beginning and getting rid of the links to the various feeds is a bad idea. Ulrich's call anyway. Wouldn't you prefer something like pl.gentoo.neysx.org or fr.gentoo.neysx.org ? You can get a ru.* one if you like, as long as I don't get hit but half of Russia. No promises for official {LANG}.gentoo.org sites at this point, but it's not entirely unresonable to think we might do something like it ;-)
(In reply to comment #4) > FWIF, I think moving the links to the beginning and getting rid of the links to > the various feeds is a bad idea. Ulrich's call anyway. First, it's not so clear why. Can you explain yourself? Why is it good for /doc/ but bad for /news/ ? Second, those are actually two separate tasks. e.g. we can just move lang links to the front, leaving RSS below (I still really do not know what is the need, for example, for the Japanese, in Russian RSS? And why can't we just leave links to /en/ and /<current-lang>/ in each translation?) > > Wouldn't you prefer something like pl.gentoo.neysx.org or fr.gentoo.neysx.org ? > You can get a ru.* one if you like, as long as I don't get hit but half of > Russia. > No promises for official {LANG}.gentoo.org sites at this point, but it's not > entirely unresonable to think we might do something like it ;-) > It's interesting, Xavier. Let's try anyway -- what do I have to do? Do you have any clues on how to forward Russian Gentooists there efficiently? -achumakov
Re-assign wrt Bug 187274
I really don't know where this goes, but I've retired, so I'm reassigning.
Reassigning to the GMN lead. Anant, this is so old it may very well be a dead issue; what's your call?
Reassigning to the other team member.
Dead issue. And the GMNs work just fine -- we want users to hit the content first when reading, anyway, not a bunch o'links.
