I've tested Cream (0.35 from bug #128990) on top of gvim-7.0_beta for a few minutes (i'm on ~arch, but i had masked the beta until now), and have already found an annoying bug: column mode selection desn't work anymore. I guess Cream is just not yet ready for vim7 (and sure, previous versions of Cream are not better in that respect). I think the gvim dep should be changed from ">=...6.4" to "=...6.4*". But sure, that will lead to an upgrade/downgrade loop on "emerge -uD world" for Cream users until they mask the beta version too, so it sucks. I don't know what else should be done in such a case... Some einfo in cream ebuild to advice masking {vim-core,vim,gvim}-7.0_beta? Or/and a "!app-vim/cream" block in the 7.0_beta ebuilds?
Meh. The way I've been handling it is to block in vim.eclass and threaten to remove the package if it's not fixed.
Cream 0.36 is for vim 7 and supposedly works with older versions as well.
Cream 0.36 has been added to CVS, should hit rsync in a few hours.
Oops, forgot to mark this bug RESOLVED.
