Description Jared H. Hudson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-29 04:43:53 UTC
If you reboot your computer from the GDM screen (after logging out) gdm stops,
and the computer starts rebooting and shutting down services. Since gdm has
already closed itself, the xdm service (listing itself as gdm) will not shut
down properly.

known problem with an unknown solution. the gdm/xdm scripts was changed to allow
the shutdown to work at all (since the gdm spawned an off process that detected
the rc-script shutoff to reset it...)

This still happens. I don't like the fact that this makes splashutils move to the verbose state.
