Description Mark Duckworth 2002-12-28 22:19:00 UTC
Hey guys, I'm not sure where the bug is. I notice that in the SDL-1.2.5
ebuilds some directfb code is replaced. I don't know where the issue is but I
have problems with SDL applications that use the frame buffer support. Aranym,
an Atari emulator, mplayer, etc. The bug could be anywhere from that code
replacement in the ebuild, to SDL to DirectFB to even aranym. I'm just trying
to hunt things down and start from square 1 and let people know that there is a
problem. I will attempt to remove DirectFB dependencies from the ebuild and see
what happens and attach it to this report. Thanks for any response.

It would seem that (after a lot of work) I find out that if I have the use flag
fbcon it will append --enable-video-fbcon to the compile flags. Whatever this
is it apparently has precedence over the use of directfb and causes my program
to work. This however still doesn't eliminate the possibility of SDL's use of
directfb being buggy. I still have problems with mplayer SDL fb, and mplayer
directfb.

Gosh it's been so long since I was attempting to do this. I believe it was 0.9.x but I know that doesn't help much. Might as well close the bug if the original creator is of no use. Sorry :-/

well we were planning on updating to 0.9.18 in stable so i was wondering how
that'd affect this bug ...

if you're able to provide anymore input in the future that'd be cool, thanks
though :)
