Description Jared H. Hudson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-28 20:57:17 UTC
When installing the gnome-list, grp-install.sh fails because after portage
installs gdm-2.4.0.12, it attempts to run doebuild
/usr/portage/gnome-base/gdm/gdm-2.4.0.12.ebuild which does not exist in the
rsync'd portage tree. First of all this looks like a bug in portage to me,
because I do not understand why it would need to use that ebuild in a portage
tree if it's using a binary package which should already have the ebuild in it,
in /var/db/pkg/gnome-base/gdm-2.4.0.12/dm-2.4.0.12.ebuild. But, if this is
necessary and not a bug, then we should not remove a package from rsync or cvs
without removing the accompanying binary package from the GRP.

This has been fixed in portage, can you double check these and close if it is ok
now?

Thanks

I apologise for this bugspam, but I wish to close this product, so I need to
move all the bugs.
