After upgrading to KMail 3.5.2 (via kde-base/kdepim-3.5.2), it seems that kmail will no longer respect the -display option. I have a 2 head setup (displays :0.0 and :0.1) and I can't get kmail to open on :0.1. This fails both from the command line (kmail -display :0.1) and when I start it from the taskbar on the :0.1 display (or from a shell session on that display). Effects vary across packages, but generally it will at least add -g to CFLAGS. Remember to set FEATURES=nostrip too - - gnokii : Enable address synchronization with mobile phones with gnokii - - kdeenablefinal : Makes kde ebuilds use the enable-final flag, yielding big compilation speedups at the cost of very heavy mem usage - - pda : Adds support for portable devices. + + xinerama : Add support for the xinerama X11 extension, which allows you to stretch your display across multiple monitors
Seems that updating to kde-libs-3.5.2-r1 solved the problem
