This is a major upgrade for Pan and represents the first release in more than two years. Pan 0.90 is the first beta of a rewrite of Pan in C++ that adds multiserver and nzb support, reduces memory use by over 66%, cuts the time to download new headers over 66%, and slashes the time it takes to load headers from disk by almost 90%.

If I remove the patch from the 0.90 ebuild it seems to build 0.91 OK.
0.92 is in CVS, p.mask'ed.
Hello. Pan-0.92 does not compile on both of my amd64 machines. At one point where it compiles "scorefile.so" or so my hole memory gets used and sometimes my machine reboots. emerge info: thomas@commander ~ $ emerge info *** Deprecated use of action 'info', use '--info' instead Portage 2.1_pre7-r5 (default-linux/amd64/2006.0, gcc-3.4.6, glibc-2.4-r1, 2.6.16.2 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.16.2 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+ Gentoo Base System version 1.6.14 dev-lang/python: 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.12 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64 ~amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=k8 -O2 -pipe" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/eselect/compiler /etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=k8 -O2 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks metadata-transfer sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/gentoo/ ftp://sunsite.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/Linux/gentoo http://linux.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/download/gentoo-mirror/ ftp://linux.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/gentoo-mirror/ http://mirrors.sec.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de/gentoo http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/vmware" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="amd64 X alsa apache2 avi berkdb bitmap-fonts cli crypt ctype cups dba dri eds emboss encode expat fastbuild foomaticdb force-cgi-redirect fortran ftp gd gif gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 imlib ipv6 isdnlog jpeg kde lzw lzw-tiff memlimit mp3 mpeg ncurses nls nptl nptlonly opengl pam pcre pdflib perl png posix pppd python qt quicktime readline sdl session simplexml soap sockets spell spl ssl tcpd tiff tokenizer truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts usb xml xpm xsl xv zlib elibc_glibc input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse kernel_linux userland_GNU video_cards_nvidia" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, MAKEOPTS
