Bug 12808 – info dir not correctly generated

after merging texinfo (4.3) my dir files (/usr/share/info and gcc's one) are
replaced with only the usage infomation (localized) but all item are removed
from menu. using mkinfodir in right directory restore valid info dir but isn't
localized anymore.

It's also true with any package that regenerate info dir.
As soon as emerge foo print : >>> regeneration of info dir... xx files 
procededs
My dir entry in /usr/share/info become corrupt.

This may have been fixed by the resolution of 11047.  I'm putting it in 
testing phase; try updating texinfo and see if that fixes it without applying 
the patch to the French PO file.

I am now closing this bug; new versions of texinfo will be coming out shortly anyway, and 
this patch fixed it for me.
