Only a few low level device drivers are being distributed on the install disc. Neither my LSI nor Adaptec scsi cards were supported, which kind of sucks, being that those are fairly big brands.. personally I'm interested in seeing the module CONFIG_SCSI_SYM53C8XX_2 distributed on the disc, but I'm sure others would like some of the other drivers distributed as well.. This is true on the 2006.0, 2005.1, and 2005.0 discs (I didn't try any older discs)
Don't restrict bugs without any reason, please...
Heh... I was just about to mark this INVALID until I noticed that you meant on the *IA64* CD. :P We'll look into it.
Unfortunately, it looks like this bug wasn't resolved for 2006.1, so I am leaving it open. I'll make sure it gets fixed for 2007.0's release.

If you're still having problems please paste the boot log or try the ISO here which has a newer kernel -- may be an issue with the driver just sucking which has been fixed: https://dolphin.ia64.dev.gentoo.org/~plasmaroo/install-ia64-minimal-20060728.iso
Akita: Looking at the date of this bug it's quite possible this was the case and I might have subsequently fixed this. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until now :-) Chris: Next time you get ia64 bugs reassign straight to me plzkthx...
plasmaroo: all releng members are *supposed* to be checking out release bugs... anyway... the kconfigs in CVS don't show this as FIXED, which is why I did not mark it as such. Also, release bugs are *never* closed until the release which fixes it hits the mirrors. It's how I track changes between releases.
2006.1 is out and about... Enjoy!
