all the files in the following directories (and possibly others) should have md5
sum files so we can verify downloads:

http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/releases/1.4_rc2/ppc/G3/stages/
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/releases/1.4_rc2/ppc/G4/stages/
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/releases/1.4_rc2/ppc/stages/
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/releases/1.4_rc2/x86/*/stages/

also, some of the sparc md5 files are names "*.md5sum" when then should be
"*.md5" to be consistent with all the others.

All of the newer stuff should have MD5s in place.
