My default download folder is in a shared filesystem that gets mounted to /media/data.  So I've always noticed that on gentoo, the folder doesn't autoupdate, which is VERY annoying.  Today I was trying to figure it out by looking through gamin's documentation, and I noticed at http://www.gnome.org/~veillard/gamin/config.html that gamin polls by default in /mnt/* and /media/*.  I can confirm that gamin works properly in my home directory and not in /media/data/temp.

 $ df
