When attempting to start dbus, I receive the following error: # /etc/init.d/dbus restart * Caching service dependencies ... [ ok ] * Stopping Hardware Abstraction Layer daemon ... [ ok ] * Stopping D-BUS system messagebus ... [ ok ] * Starting D-BUS system messagebus ... start-stop-daemon: stat /usr/bin/dbus-daemon: No such file or directory [ !! ] Looking in /usr/bin shows a "dbus-daemon-1". I created a link to /usr/bin/dbus-daemon from this file and it works properly. I believe that the file just needs to be renamed.
I think you should upgrade to the last stable release for you arch, dbus-0.23 is obsolete for most arches. Afaics this really shouldn't happen and I think it could've only be caused by an odd up/downgrade cycle.
I am resolving this as invalid as there is a newer version of hal (that is stable) If you still experience this after upgrading to the latest version, please reopen.
