Description Alex 2006-03-26 14:48:22 UTC
"This plugin adds a libnotify interface to gaim, enabling popups much like guifications. It has some configuration options, to show popups when a buddy signs on, on new messages and on new conversations only."

It was not that easy...for beta2 the ebuild is ok but for beta3 we need to patch the source files.

There is a new version 0.9 and works with Gaim 2.0.0beta3

New version 0.11 is out ;)

I was using my own ebuild until now, and I haven't written many ebuilds, so here's a question: why pass disable deprecated? I know gaim-libnotify doesn't use deprecated api now, but isn't that asking for future breakage?

Also, libnotify dependency should be updated to 0.3.2

The ebuild shouldn't change much with new releases, so I think this ebuild could be added to the tree :). If a maintainer is needed, I can do it.
Comment 10 Jonathan Wright 2006-07-06 11:30:44 UTC
I've copied gaim-libnotify-0.10.ebuild to gaim-libnotify-0.11.ebuild (and updated libnotify dependency to 0.3.2) and it's installed and running fine on gaim-2.0.0-beta3-r1.

Duarte i saw you are one of the upstream maintainers of gaim-libnotify are you interested in maintaining this package on the portage ? I can act as proxy.

i forgot to say... if you want talk to me on IRC or email me. Thanks
Comment 13 Duarte Henriques 2006-07-12 16:34:44 UTC
Luis Medinas: Yes, I'd be interested, thanks. I sent you an email.
Comment 14 Luis Medinas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-07 21:23:27 UTC
Duarte the package is in the tree. You are the maintainer from now on. If you have any questions or you need something commited please send me an email.
I did a few minor modifications to fix the ebuild you sent me.

Thanks everyone... now start buging Duarte ;)
