Just for your information:
The developers server hosting gmudix/mudix is not available any more. The developer has closed down the server, this project is discontinued and dead now. :(

Is there some kind of announcement about this or is the web site just down at the moment?

Because the server is down I requested the author. His answer to me is as follows:

> I have closed down my web server completely that's why it is down.
> However you are free to distribute gmudix in any way you want.

I read this as: "I do not work any more on this software."

I requested the author in May 2005 if he plans improvements to the software and he answered that he had not done any work on the project lately. The latest file in the tar-archive is dated to March 2004.

So I think the project is dead, regarding the original author.

There are lots of packages in this state.  Until there's a good reason to remove them from portage, we just let them be.
