Please see the screenshot. Layout management is quite broken for the widgets in the preferences dialog. The preferences dialog (like everything in this version) is also very slow, like when switching tabs, dropping down a menu, etc.

That's what you get w/ gtk as a free bonus... :P Needless to say that it's reproducible here, even w/ mozilla-firefox-bin, so I'm afraid you'll need to take your complaint upstream (mozilla/gnome)...
I used to notice this as well, but the problem seem to have dissapeared all together somewhere along the line of updating gtk+ and various related libraries. So, I'm going to have to put in a WORKSFORME vote on this one.

It is gtk+ related, I am closing as works for me with gtk+-2.8.14 and 2.8.13
