x11-wm/waimea needs to be updated to use modular X. I'm in the process of doing so, however, the package has more problems than just not using modular X: it fails to compile since waimea hasn't been updated to use >x11-libs/cairo-1 (which is the only one in the tree). As there is a porting guide, I'm trying to make this work. When I do, I'll update it to use modular X and fix bug 125906 (and hopefully bug 91758 too).
Looks like upstream is dead (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/waimea/2006-January/000190.html). I really don't want to remove waimea from the tree, but it doesn't even build right now. Since this is the case, I'll p.mask it until I (or somebody) can make it work with the current cairo - I don't think it should be removed just yet.
x11-wm/waimea is in package.mask until I can more thoroughly test it. I plan on leaving it in there for a while before discussing removal.

(In reply to comment #3) > Someone uncommented the mask... halcy0n did so since I forgot to mask x11-misc/wampager too, and he emailed me letting me know. I've been lax in getting around to it, but it's now time to email -dev.
Created attachment 97595 [details] waimea-0.5.1 This is the latest waimea code. It needs patching to compile with >cairo-1 and actually work in a sane manner.
Created attachment 97596 [details, diff] patch to waimea-0.5.1 to update to cairo-1 A patch to waimea-0.5.1.tar.gz so it will compile with >cairo-1. It still is hardly functional, but it builds and runs.
Please, fix or punt this, not modular X ready.
Closing bug as x11-wm/waimea has been removed from the tree.
