The configure script of openoffice fails after:

checking for required Perl modules... Can't locate Archive/Zip.pm in @INC (@INC contains: ...

Workaround: Download the required Perl module manually from http://search.cpan.org/~smpeters/Archive-Zip/, unpack it, and then the usual Perl procedure:

   perl Makefile.PL
   make
   make install

As you would see if you did look at the ebuild, openoffice *depends* on dev-perl/Archive-Zip (which is normally in portage, don't see why are you manually downloading from gcpan). Run perl-cleaner.
