I added a check, thanks.
And now it fails even if pwlib is with ldap compiled. configure: error: Sorry but the PWLib version you are using doesn't support LDAP !!! what version of ldap are you using? Maybe it needs 2.3 ..
node: You need to add yourself to CC when you want to receive notification emails from this bug :)
I could yeah, but getting to much mail as it is from bugs.gentoo.org : ) Then again, a nother one won't matter : )
box770 ~ # equery list openldap [ Searching for package 'openldap' in all categories among: ] * installed packages [I--] [ ~] net-nds/openldap-2.2.28-r4 (0)
PLease try with currently p.masked 2.3
OpenLDAP 2.3 seems to fix the problem :)
Uhm, just to make sure, can you please downgrade openldap to 2.2.28-r4 and see if the error appears again? I just tried and it worked for me
(In reply to comment #12) > Uhm, just to make sure, can you please downgrade openldap to 2.2.28-r4 and see > if the error appears again? > > I just tried and it worked for me Did you rebuilt pwlib too? Unfortunately I don't have much time left today. Will look into it tomorrow because I have a ship to catch. :(
hi, I don't know if I have to commit a bug for that, but it would be great to have OSS enabled, because I only have OSS (no alsa), and when I use the ebuild in portage, ekiga can't start because no audio plugin : 2006/03/26 15:53:40.692 0:00.256 ekiga Detected audio plugins: 2006/03/26 15:53:40.693 0:00.257 ekiga Detected video plugins: Picture
why in the world would you still want to use the depreciated OSS?? Who knows how long it will remain in the kernel even.
Have I to explain all my life for using OSS ? I need OSS, I can't use ALSA. And if ekiga on gentoo can't use OSS, I just won't be able to use ekiga. But, I can read everywhere that ekiga use ALSA _AND_ OSS. So, I just wanted to have ekiga on gentoo with OSS enabled. If not possible, nevermind.
well, pwlib has alsa and oss use flags so you should be well off. If there is more needed to maake it possible just tell me and I will fix it for you. By the way, the OSS issue belongs to another bug report. You should post your pwlib use flags there if you are really interested in persuing this one. Oh, an the "Why do you still use OSS?"-question is in my opinion valid, because no one is supposed to use OSS kernel-side these days .. I might close your bug invalid then. BUt this does not belong here and it is a bad habit talking here about a completely different topic.
Sorry, but my english is not very good and I'm not sure to understand all. My pwlib has already oss enabled : # emerge -pv pwlib These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild R ] dev-libs/pwlib-1.10.0 -alsa -debug -ieee1394 +ipv6 +ldap +oss -sasl +sdl +ssl +v4l +v4l2 +xml 0 kB I didn't find another bug opened on for ekiga, may be I made a bad search. About my OSS use, what I can tell you to be quick is that if I don't have OSS anymore, I can buy another sound card.
(In reply to comment #18) > I didn't find another bug opened on for ekiga, may be I made a bad search. What you report here is a real bug, please open a new bug for that one. On the bottom, click "New", post your emerge info there, and continue talking only there please. > About my OSS use, what I can tell you to be quick is that if I don't have OSS > anymore, I can buy another sound card. So your driver is OSS-only? Which driver? Do you know that there is alsa-oss - a conversion layer for alsa<->oss conversion.
Done here : http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127677 I know oss emulation by alsa. I have tried to use ALSA with my card a lot of times, but I always got a very poor sound. I've spent a lot of hours on it, and never get the perfect quality I have with OSS. So, I won't never spend more time with ALSA and this sound card. I have 6 PCs, and this one is the only one that use OSS. If I could use ALSA, I would do it, sincerly. Sorry for the noise.
Priit Laes: Please reopen if you still ahve problems. Meantime I consider this as fixed
I had the same problem. I re-emerged pwlib and openldap and the like. What is more interesting is that I already had ekiga installed (I was re-emerging to add avahi support). I re-emerged everything many different times, but nothing worked. I then downgraded to pwlib-1.8.7 and then upgraded back to pwlib-1.10.0 and it then worked. No dependencies were brought in or anything by pwlib-1.8.7.
