I second this. It has been over a year since 0.5 was released, yet it is still the latest version in portage. 0.6 had significant changes made to how darksnow interacts with darkice. It's more than a slight version bump; It's a year's worth of development. Lars requested the bump 6 months ago, revisited the request 2 months ago to report yet another update to the app, and yet it sits in the portage tree as 0.5. So here's my vote for 0.6.1 to be put into the portage tree.
Not to mention, version 0.6.1 runs rocksolid on my x86 machine while version 0.5 was freezing/crashing randomly. I'm afraid that there's no activ ebuild-maintainer for this package in gentoo or it's not worth attention of the responsible maintainer :-( (just my 2 cents) Cheers Poly-C
