To recreate:
leftclick gxine, select view then fullscreen mode

this is the error message from the command line:

hi.. after last time i found something related to this bug... first, I have update the system switching to modular xorg 7... in any way, i noticed that gxine crash if full screen mode is selected only if i start it from gnome panel applications menu... if i try to it from console the switch to full screen mode it work...

Try with 0.5 series, keeping 0.4 just for sparc keyword.
