foomatic installs some files into this path: 
/usr/lib/site_perl/5.6.1/Foomatic/ 
 
And then subsequently can't find them. This makes printing break. I suggest 
that the files be put here instead: 
 
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/Foomatic/

can you try making sure you have the latest perl and ExtUtils-MakeMaker, then
remerge foomatic? does that fix the problem?

closing as this should have been resolved with all the ExtUtils-MakeMaker stuff
