When trying to emerge synce the first dependency is deb-libs/check-0.9.3-r1

emerge check fails; it says: "Failes running autoconf".

The content of /var/tmp/portage/check-0.9.3-r1/temp/autoconf-30129.out is:
FATAL ERROR: Autoconf version 2.50 or higher is required for this script

But I have autoconf version 2.59-r7

I've added a call to elibtoolize to see if that fixes the problem. Please test it and report back.

Please include the full output of the emerge command next time.

Assuming this is fixed: no response for 6 months!  Please reopen this bug if the problem still occurs.
