Dear developers/maintainers, I'm using gentoo for several years and I'm very happy with it, my compliments. Today I was trying to install gentoo 2006.0 with the gui installer. The install failed and below is the log. One thing that I've found very annoying was that the installer said to veryfy /var/log/installer.log file before submitting a bug to verify that I didn't do something "stupid". Now, /var/log/install.log doesn't exist and a search shows that only /var/log/installer.log.faile exists. I would like to ask you to remove such "stupid" comments from your installer. Eh? What kind of offensive comments? There's no offensive comment in the log. There's also no information here to debug your issue, post the real build error (see the Output tab of the installer and /tmp/compile_output.log).

As for compile_output.log I'm now installing gentoo from stage3 so the file has changed. I suggest the Installer comment when an installation fails should say: "Please" send /var/log/installer.log.failed and /tmp/compile_output.log for bug reporting. cheers Marko
