Description Leif Sandstede 2002-12-24 16:42:46 UTC
Hi!
I tried to install Gentoo on my Duron from stage 1,I booted from LiveCD 1.4rc1
and changed the make.conf file but when I try to bootstrap the system the
-march=duron flag is not recognized even though the make.conf file sugests it
should be.Bootstraping fails after a few seconds.
I downloaded the stage 1 tarball from ibiblio.org about an hour ago(24.12.).
So SOMETHING must be wrong.

This is because the 1.4_rc1 stuff uses an older gcc that doesn't support
-march=duron. You can use our experimental livecd at
http://www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/experimental/x86/ (get the "122300" version) to
install with those opts. Stage 1 tarball will be in /mnt/cdroot/gentoo...

Best Regards,
