Description 931987 2006-03-17 03:59:02 UTC
I emerged filer-0.0.12 and it seems to be unable to delete files. All I get is a pop-up window with the information:

Moving of /home/'something' to Trash failed: No such file or directory

Erm, so - create the ~/Trash directory?

I tried it already out, even as root it doesn't work.

Tried to reproduce your problem. Works for me. (Even though I don't have a Trash-dir in my ~. Upstream Bbg?) Could you please explain all steps necessary to reproduce the problem?
Comment 4 931987 2006-07-09 12:06:12 UTC
Well I can't say much, because I am not that experienced...

1. $ emerge filer
2. $ filer (as a normal user)
3. and then I just pick something with the mouse and try to delete it (mouse-menu-list -> Delete)

Comment 5 Michael Cummings (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-09 15:09:05 UTC
Did a little debugging (otherwise you just need to disable the move to Trash and let it rm the file) - its looking for ~home/.local/share/Trash/files to move the files to. This is a bug upstream, not in gentoo :/
Comment 6 931987 2006-07-10 03:43:39 UTC
thanks, anyway. In fact, I've replaced filer with pcmanfm.
Comment 7 Yuval Yaari (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-21 08:10:25 UTC
Did anyone report upstream?
Comment 8 Michael Cummings (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-06 07:40:02 UTC
Please sync up in a few hours. I'm afraid a version of the patch for this sat in my inbox for a good while. Mod'd and applied this morning, should sync out in the next few hours to your local mirrors.
