Sorry for the delay, I've been busy in real life. I'll look into this tonight
It appears that this was a temporary issue caused by a strange URI in mirros.xml. The problem does not occur when I run mirrorselect currently, however it does occur when I feed netselect the argument list your debug output provided me. If this is still a problem for you, please reopen the bug. Thank you for your time in reporting the problem.
