In order to connect to the internet if you have the Australian ISP Bigpond, the program net-dialup/bpalogin is required. I believe that this small program (~22kB when compiled) could be added to livecds so that users do not have to either connect to a LAN which is connected to the internet already, or perform a networkless installation, then copy the sources across to emerge it. This would make life much easier for them. The package is stable on x86, has no dependencies other than virtual/libc and has no bugs currently.
I'm marking this as FIXED. It's on all of the x86 CDs, and is in the specs for 2007.0 on all of the others, though it'll need to be marked stable on those architectures to actually make it to release.
