Hey Rajiv, here it is in a nutshell. The new and 'improved' yabootconfig, included with yaboot-1.3.8-r1 and newer to automagically setup your partitions for new world machines now also autodetects and sets up dual and triple boot conbinations with Linux / Mac OS / OS X. At the command prompt (assuming you already have a valid bootstrap partition ready), emerge -u yaboot (to ensure you have the latest version installed), then run yabootconfig, it will confirm your partition (type Y). It will then scan your system setup, create a /etc/yaboot.conf file and run mkofboot for you. You can edit the file afterwards to your liking if desierd (like setting defaultos, etc) or run it as is. Make sure to rerun ybin -v after editing /etc/yaboot.conf to apply changes. This should probably replace current yaboot.conf information in the install guide, and also may be worth a mention or link in the faq maybe?
Rajiv: Can we get this online asap? Lots of people are still struggling with yaboot.conf setups and this will make their life a lot easier. Just closed a bug on yaboot.conf stuff this morning This should probably make it into install guide We may also have to add the grp install information from the x86 install guide, when I have some time I'[ll try and give you something for it
added in cvs. sorry for the delay. GRP to-do moved to bug 15023.
added section to the ppc faq about dual/triple booting.
