I often install and maintain gentoo remotely. It would be nice to be able to eject the installation CD (when booted with docache) and reboot without human interaction...
It is already on the LiveCD. As for the InstallCD, we are actually looking to reduce the number of packages that are not essential for release on the CD, so it is *very* unlikely that it will ever be added to official release media. I'll leave this open for now while I think about it and discuss it with the other Release Engineers.

The minimal cds are also a small enough footprint to use docache when booting, which makes ejecting possible. The livecd, doubt I could use docache on that bad boy ;) Thanks for considering it...
I don't think it's such a bad idea, eject is quite small and doesn't DEP on anything that's not already there.
I added eject on the ppc-CD ages ago, as many Apples don't provide a physical switch for opening the CD-tray. If you install with docache, you don't have any other chance than using eject for the disc-change. So, for ppc eject is a must.
Should be on all of the media for 2006.1's release. Marking as FIXED.
