I noticed that emerge gnome is failing on AMD64 because the newest stable perl-PodParser is virtual/perl-PodParser-1.28 which refers to perl-core/PodParser-1.28, which has been removed from portage.  Because of this, I have to add virtual/perl-PodParser, dev-lang/perl, sys-devel/libperl, and app-admin/perl-cleaner if I want to install Gnome.
