You failed to provide *any* useful information. If the bug is with the installer itself and *not* the CD< then say so. Also, try checking out the Installer FAQ link on the desktop to ensure that you provide all the necessary information for the installer team.

I have tried both the terminal installer and the graphical installer. both give same result. I can configure the install and everything goes fine but when I actually try to intall it just hangs and doesnt ever make it to partitioning the hard drive. No matter what the install configureation is the problem is still the same and since it never makes it to partitioning the HDD I dont think the configureation matters. I though maybe it had something to do with my HDD so I put an old 40 GB maxtor HDD in the computer and took the 2 sata HDD out. This solution didnt help anything. I then installed an old gentoo 2004.2 with both the 40GB maxtor and the 2 sata HDD and it worked just fine. I just some help installing the new gentoo with on this machine since I have to convert 4 more of these same machines to linux and I would prefer to use gentoo over any other distro. I tried making 3 different copies of the disk and get the same result each time. I also checked each disk and used 3 different burners to make the disks. IF you need any more info just yell.

Do you have a DHCP server on the network? If not, check the "My network is already setup and running" checkbox in the GTK frontend. In the dialog frontend, just put in some bogus static IP info.

Thanks for the information.

Have you tried doing some of the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the Installer FAQ (link on the desktop)?

Andrew, I'm assigning this over to you unless you know it is not an installer thing.

I'm going to assume this is just the dying-on-DHCP bug that occurs when you select DHCP and there's no DHCP server. This has already been fixed in CVS. If my suggestion above doesn't work, please reopen and provide the /tmp/installprofile.xml and /tmp/clientprofile.xml.

Moving to Release Media/Installer.
