Description Kendric Beachey 2006-03-13 19:00:11 UTC
I noticed Celestia 1.4.0 was out, at least on the tilde, for amd64, so I emerged it. It seems to work great (although by default ALL of the items were unselected in the rendering options), with one minor missing piece, which is the spacecraft. I'm not sure if their model files are missing or if something else is at fault.

part of the data seems to be there as i see labels will appear if selected
and you can follow their orbits but no model itself
hopefully will look into tonight and find out why

looking into further i found that the 3ds files werent being installed
for some reason adding the cp line below after the install stuff works
but i dont like it for a perminate solution...

cp models/*.3ds ${D}/usr/share/celestia/models/

put this into the tree like that, i'll leave it open in hopes to find a better solution

You guys do realize that 1.4.1 has been out for about a month now? The Makefiles were slimmed down and refined a lot. There is a good chance this is fixed.
Comment 5 Bret Towe 2006-03-15 20:32:18 UTC
i didnt state it but i did test 1.4.1 and not .0
and the fix is applied to .1 ebuild

since 1.4.1 is out i only looked at that and not at 1.4.0, yes

until i have a little more time this temp fix will have to do, in 1.4.1 ...
Comment 7 Disenchanted (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-26 08:14:27 UTC
this will stay this way for an unspecified period of time
might be reopened at a later time to be fixed more elegantly
