Description Peter Hyman 2006-03-13 09:41:20 UTC
When submitting an ebuild or ebuild request, it is not possible to add the KEYWORD `EBUILD'. The user must commit the bug report, then go back and add the proper KEYWORD, commit again. In cases when an ebuild file is submitted, this means 3 trips into the same bug.

I suppose this would have value for other types of input, but ebuild submission comes to mind first. JM2C.

(Possibly related)
If the user changes fields on the bug entry screen (priority, OS, severity, CC, KEYWORD, etc.), then the user clicks to create an attachment. After submitting the attachment, the changes are lost on the original bug entry page. This may be by design, but thought I'd throw it out for review anyway.

How is it not possible? Kindly see the keywords field at

Jakub, either I'm dense, or there is no KEYWORD entry form. This is directly from the URL you sent me: http://bugs.gentoo.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Gentoo%20Linux.
Only when I return to the screen after an initial commit is the KEYWORD field there. Maybe you have more privileges, but this to me looks like its missing. Consider reopening pls.

Note, _here_ keyword can be input.
Comment 4 Peter Hyman 2006-03-13 10:35:42 UTC
Please see screenshots. First one shows initial entry form and there is no input field for KEYWORDS. Second screen shot shows field present.

The screenshot is truncated and therefore useless. The Keywords field is at the bottom a couple of lines above commit button.

I don't like to get into a pissing contest here, Jakub, but the field is NOT there. The only thing truncated in the first screenshot are the buttons.
Comment 7 Peter Hyman 2006-03-13 10:45:57 UTC
reopening because field is missing

Jakub, it appears you may be a more privileged user with additional fields to input. Is it possible devs have access to those fields, and not users? I see your screenshot, however, with the release of this version of bugzilla, with the more streamlined entry process, I don't have those fields at all anymore...as you can see.

Jeffrey, any comments on this?
Comment 11 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-08 04:53:23 UTC
OK, this requires manual hacking of CGI. Sorry, please request this UPSTREAM so that it works correctly out of the box. Thanks.
