Description Koune Dominik 2006-03-11 07:54:49 UTC
installed version:2.3.6-r3
available version for update:2.4

configure error:
Theses critical programs are missing or too old: gcc
check INSTALL file for required versions.

gcc required version: 3.4 or higher, 4.1 recommended

gcc: latest available :3.4.5-r1
     latest installed :3.4.5-r1

I tried to re-emerge gcc with the same issue. Other programs, make, binutils, texinfo ... are OK.

Don't restrict bugs...

you neglected to post `emerge info`

also, we'll need the config.log file as an attachment

my emerge log

here my emerge log. Thank's for all indications about how to realise this file
Comment 9 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-03-13 10:52:52 UTC
well the answer should be fairly obvious ...
Comment 10 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-03-13 10:53:21 UTC
you both have gcc-3.3.6 set as your default gcc

glibc-2.4 requires gcc-3.4 on x86/amd64

oh ok. thank you. i never realized that this had to be done by hand.
for those of you that don't know how to do that run

gcc-config -l
once you see which profiile number you want to use run
gcc-config #
