Description Ben Minton 2006-03-10 15:46:37 UTC
Sorry, no emerge --info ... this bug occurred on a machine that has subsequently been reformatted last week and I apologise for being late with this.

For info (from memory) this fault developed on a 2005.1-r1 x86 based MMX box.

This bug involves the URL paths on 3/4(?) ebuilds as being incorrect, specifically those referring to the http://mirror.isp.net.au server.

The correct URL path for distfiles on this server is given as:

http://mirror.isp.net.au/ftp/pub/gentoo/distfiles/

While emerging, netcat and another related package, the ebuild(s) halted with error 404: file not found. Looking at the preceding URL, it was given as:

http://mirror.isp.net.au/pub/gentoo/distfiles/

As a newb to delving into ebuilds/portage etc, it took a while to workout the remedy, which was to wget the_respective.tar.gz/bz2 etc, then recommencing the relevant emerges.

Regards, Ben.

This sounds more like an ebuild error. Find out the offending ebuilds and file bugs about them in the general "gentoo linux" product specifying the error and package that is causing it.

This is not a mirror bug.
